Emotional and Psychological Trauma

When bad things happen, it can take a while to get over the pain and feel safe again. But with these self-help strategies and support, you can speed up your recovery.

What is emotional and psychological trauma?

Emotional and psychological trauma is the result of extraordinarily stressful events that shatter your sense of security, making you feel helpless in a dangerous world. Psychological trauma can leave you struggling with upsetting emotions, memories, and anxiety that won’t go away. It can also leave you feeling numb, disconnected, and unable to trust other people.
Traumatic experiences often involve a threat to life or safety, but any situation that leaves you feeling overwhelmed and isolated can result in trauma, even if it doesn’t involve physical harm. It’s not the objective circumstances that determine whether an event is traumatic, but your subjective emotional experience of the event. The more frightened and helpless you feel, the more likely you are to be traumatized.
Emotional and psychological trauma can be caused by:
  • One-time events, such as an accident, injury, or a violent attack, especially if it was unexpected or happened in childhood.
  • Ongoing, relentless stress, such as living in a crime-ridden neighborhood, battling a life-threatening illness or experiencing traumatic events that occur repeatedly, such as bullying, domestic violence, or childhood neglect.
  • Commonly overlooked causes, such as surgery (especially in the first 3 years of life), the sudden death of someone close, the breakup of a significant relationship, or a humiliating or deeply disappointing experience, especially if someone was deliberately cruel.
Coping with the trauma of a natural or manmade disaster can present unique challenges—even if you weren’t directly involved in the event. In fact, while it’s highly unlikely any of us will ever be the direct victims of a terrorist attack, plane crash, or mass shooting, for example, we’re all regularly bombarded by horrific images on social media and news sources of those people who have been. Viewing these images over and over can overwhelm your nervous system and create traumatic stress. Whatever the cause of your trauma, and whether it happened years ago or yesterday, you can make healing changes and move on with your life.

This is all in medical science
How ever the life is not like that. There are some other things also. for understanding the Trauma we have to first understand he cause of it. Any person never go in the trauma until and unless there is significant amount of damage has occurred. and to understand this we have to go into the History of that person. lets take the War of Mahabharata as an example. The war was the result of one person's Oath. However we cant point towards pitama Bhisma for the war. Unknowingly the mile stone of the war was set at that time. Later own unqualified person set on the thorn, which is another mile stone lead to biased decision. In this way  this series of Biased decision occurred which lead to War.

Similarly we also make the mistakes, it is on us how far we can carry the load of that mistake. The more we carry the more add on get's added. At one point all starts collapsing. In this situations the person starts going into metal depreciation. Now here are three parts
  1. Person accepts his mistake thoroughly
  2. Person Denies his mistake either thoroughly
  3. Person accepts his mistake partially

In first case, when the person accepts his mistake. At this point the person ma last of 15 to 20 days of trauma after that everything will be normal. Normally these are short span mistake and patient can recover easily. There is no harm to the patient
Case 2, this case is having high mortality. This is the place where maximum suicides occurs. The person is not ready to accept the Situation. According to him, he is right and others are trying to pull him, or not supporting him, or get rid of him, etc. no matter what was the situation. " a error is error"  this attitude of the society is also responsible in these cases. and one has to understand the post effects of the error in society point of view. as it is said people are gonna point you every time. You have to be smart enough to understand the correct path. In these cases some times the person shows that he accepted the mistake but internally he/she is burning and there is something which call as high Deprecation starts growing. The symptoms are Fall in the apatite, Mood Swing, getting connected to virtual world, lost motor skills, losing the temper easily
Case 3 this is the most complex situation. This occurred only when the known from of trust is bridge. This happened especially in the families or with the familiar persons. This type of bridges in the faith by him or her creats a huge impact on brains physical structure and on neurons. We all know that neurons are responsible for the decision making. These neurons set the certain threshold hold values. These valuse are set by the help of the trusted persons, experience, environment, and past. However there is one law. "Today who is with you will not be always with you.". This is where the person breaks down.
The person know this universal law, how ever he is not willing to admit it. The person knows the truth and still denies it. And when the situations get created he is not able to understand the cause of the creation. He trys to fight against the situation, but cant succeed. At this time he starts getting mentally ill. Because hi is continuously thinking of the situations, and cause of the situation and reason of the situation. He got stuck in while loop of the nature.
